Summer 2012: Completed restoration of eight large double-hung sash at historic mid-19th Century church.

These photos show some of the work recently completed on 14 large double hung sash at the Vermont State House.

This project involved restoring six small double hung windows as well as refinishing the Douglas fir trim and stools around the windows. The added challenge of coming up with a solution for keeping the bottom sash open made this one of our most rewarding projects yet.

Work was completed on the restoration of some very interesting original windows in the attic of the so-called Dewey House. This fine State owned building across from the Capitol was being renovated to house the Secretary of State's office. Part of this renovation involved converting an unused attic space into offices. Our role in the project was to restore the nine sash windows and install new storm windows.

We recently completed the full restoration of two over-sized 12/12 double hung sash for the Vermont State Capitol building in Montpelier. Details of the restoration included replacing sash cords with sash chain, custom finished brass hardware and restoration of original lift sockets on the upper sash. This was a great project and it was a true honor to work on one of the State's architectural icons.
